Secrets of the Chocolate House is the second book in Paula Brackston's Found Things series, following The Little Shop of Found Things, where protagonist Xanthe must travel back in time to the 17th century to save her love interest, Samuel, from danger, testing her time-traveling abilities and discovering her true destiny as she confronts a dangerous adversary. The story continues Xanthe's adventures as she tries to settle into her antique shop in Marlborough, but is drawn back to the past by a singing copper chocolate pot, leading to a perilous journey where she learns more about her powers and meets others with similar abilities.
